Love this song March 7, 2007

I was listening to my dixie chicks in the car today. I’ve never really understood this song-always thought it was a beautiful melody and poetic words, but not really able to apply it to work for me. I’ve had a breakthrough. lol. Some of the lines I don’t think work, but over all I’m loving it and applying it to this big change we’ve made.

Landslide-Dixie Chicks

I took my love and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail thru the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life

Well, I’ve been afraid of changing ’cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I’m getting older too
Well…

Well, I’ve been afraid of changing ’cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I’m getting older, too
Well I’m getting older too

So, take this love and take it down
if you climb a mountain and ya turn around
if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well the landslide brought me down
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well maybe
Well maybe
Well maybe the landslide will bring you down

I love this song. What beautiful words to apply to your life at this time. Really neat. I am so glad you found this song and I hope it comforts you. Hang in there, this Landslide won’t bring you down, I think it will only build you up!

Here’s some useless knowledge for ya: this song was originally by Stevie Nix of Fleetwood Mac, but you probably already knew that.
