Andy was feeling much better today. The antibiotics have kicked in and he is back to normal. We went down to the cafeteria and got lunch and ate on the patio. It was sprinkling a bit, but there are covers and it was such a nice temperature. His OT guy (Josh today) came out with us and talked about what equipment to order. We talked about option in a shower bench and toilet chair. He will order them, and hopefully they come super fast-cause we are going to need them. He told us a little about the chair that Ron is ordering-it’s super sweet. It’s titanium, so super light and super fast. He said it’s one of the best you can get. He also said it’s a minimum of $12,000.00! Dang! I can’t believe they are going to spend that much. Maybe having some of them thinking that it’s going to be more permanant IS a good thing. But he also said that they have to do a fitting, and then order it and it takes about a month and a half, so he won’t be getting it for awhile. (BTW-my car cost less than 12,000…)

He is learning how to catheterize himself. It’s really not as bad as it sounds or what I imagined. He’s doing pretty good with the whole process and won’t be so tied down. I’m not going into very many details, but it’s pretty cool how they can make the whole process fairly normal. (But…It does seem like he is getting a bit of sensation so we are both really hopeful.)

We tried to watch the Ringer(thanks for the recommendation) but it got kinda busy and we stopped. It was funny, and we will finish monday probably.

It was a good day. He was bummed that it was the reptile expo today and he couldn’t go, but we enjoyed being together. I’m still stressing about him coming home and being ready for that, but I just have to do what I can and the rest will fall into place. g’night!

Wow… sounds like he’ll be getting a set of sweet wheels, lol.
Yay on getting sensations~ that is a really good sign.
We laughed so hard when we watched The Ringer that we had to keep backing it up to catch stuff we missed because we were laughing.

    Hugs & prayers, Kei

Sounds like things are going well! I have a friend that broke her back in college. She was living on her own a few months later and is the most determined person I have ever met. In her situation, she is paralyzed from the waist down. I have never seen someone as power driven to do everything that she would have done in the past.

Andy reminds me of her. He seems to be speeding through his recovery with a great attitude. You guys are an amazing couple and I am sure you will get through this “bump” in your lives.
