I want less April 4, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — ashlieaxandike @ 4:44 pm

It’s been so long since I’ve posted-we moved and haven’t had real internet for a month so I have so much great things to post about, but all I can think of today is how much less I want. I need less responsibility. I need less stuff. I need less appointments. I need less to-do’s. I need less stress. I need less to think about. I dream about being able to get up and play with my kids and make wonderful meals and have a beautiful house to stay all day in and spend time with my family. Time to scrapbook our memories. Time to photograph our life. Time to read great books. Time to just be.

Don’t get discouraged but I’m still wishing for all those things, too and I’m nearly 60 years old. You don’t get days or weeks of “less stress” but you might get one day here and there. You just keep doing the best you can and moving forward each day. Making a list and accomplishing one thing each day helps me feel less stressed.

Another thing I have found to be true. When I begin my day by getting up just a little earlier than than everyone else (especially when you kids were small) and taking a few minutes to read my scriptures and say my prayers, my days went much better. I even find it helpful now that you kids are all gone and I’m working full time. My days just seem to go better when I start my day the right way;. also remeber the scripture found in Ecclisiastes 3:4…. there is a season for all things; there’s a time to laugh, and a time to cry; etc. Look it up, it’s great.

So there’s my insights—for whatever it’s worth. Good Luck. You are doing great. Keep it up!!

I find that when I make more time to live life and enjoy life, I have less time to stress over the other things. Do what you can, the rest will fall into place.

Ashlee, you are my hero. You are an amazing, strong woman. I truely look up to you. Hang in there and know that we all love you.

You, right now, are my hero. We have our first placement, and after everything else we have gone through, I feel so lost and confused and running myself ragged. You are my hero. We need to get together again soon. 😉 Repeat: YOU. ARE. MY. HERO.
